How did you get into long-distance swimming?
When I was young I swam up and down many times and people didn’t understand me. I swam nonstop, sometimes for 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), even though I was very young. It was very hard for people to swim with me; I was pretty fast already. Maybe I was born like this, who knows.
