PRE-TRIP INFORMATION – LORETO, MEXICO

1) Loreto Airport is only 10 min away from the Loreto town and Santa Fe hotel. Local taxis are widely available at the airport and in town and you can pay in Mexican pesos or US dollars. On average the rate for the one-way drive from the airport to town is $21 Usd. You can share this cost with others in the car. On the way back to the airport the rate is cheaper (around $15 Usd). Taxis in Loreto town are cheaper to use.

2) Should you travel via La Paz, there are several local buses daily between La Paz and Loreto. You buy a ticket on location.
Additional nights:
If you require additional nights’ accommodation while in Loreto, you can contact hotel Santa Fe and see if they have rooms available. Otherwise, there are other accommodation options in Loreto town.
Important information:
a) Some nationals may require a visa to enter Mexico. Please check this if you need one.
b) Have some pocket money in either US dollars or Mexican pesos for evening meals and tipping (cash or using Paypal or Venmo). The boat crew and Strel guides are usually tipped at the end of the trip. ATMs are available in town to withdraw cash.
c) Items to bring: All you need for swimming plus, Towel, Aqua Shoes, Drinking Water Bottle marked with YOUR NAME on it. You will bring it on the boat daily. Icebox is available. We have for you our complimentary silicone swim caps. Should you require fins, masks and swimming tow floats please bring these with you.
e) Use bottled water in Mexico including at the hotel. The shop is around the corner attached to the hotel. Our boats have large flasks to refill your drinking bottles while out at sea.
