On 23 February, 2013, Bled tourist board and Strel Swimming organised the traditional winter swimming cup at Lake Bled in Slovenia.
We were proud to host swimmer for the Lake Bled Winter Swimming Cup 2013 from nine countries including Australia, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, United Kingdom and USA. There was 67 brave swimmers who competed in 25m and 50m disciplines and some extra penguins who only dipped in the 3C water. This year we also organised an extra endurance event for British Haydn Welch who completed first ever ice mile swimming on Lake Bled. Haydn swam for 37min and 23sec in 3.5C water. Strel Swimming team documented the entire swim and Haydn´s achievement will become part of International Ice Swimming Association swims.
