Lake Bled, Slovenia hosted the 5th annual winter swimming event. On 21.February, 2015 almost 60 international swimmers took part in cold swimming in the 4C water.
Over 700 swimmers participated in 2010 which helped to establish this event at Bled. Slovenia has many stunning lakes and rivers and is a small and very beautiful and is bordered by Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary. Lake Bled and also Lake Bohinj are popular visit.
We organise the event in partnership with Bled tourist board. The swimming venue is in front of the renowned Grand Hotel Toplice.
This year swimmers came from 9 different countries including Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, United Kingdom, Austria, Germany and Slovakia.
There were 4 different disciplines to compete in: 25m breaststroke, 25m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and “The penguins dip”.
Apart from great outdoor swimming, guests can also explore Triglav national park by doing activities such as snow shoeing, cross country skiing, going on a cultural tour to Radovljica, Vintgar gorge and walk around Bled. Also not to forget, everyone must try the famous Bled Cake while there!
