Martin Strel swimming

Martin Strel, our founder and legendary marathon swimmer sets his new mega challenge to swim around the World. It is called Strel World Swim.

At the age of 61, the Guinness world record holder plans to swim through 107 countries in 450 days.

In his long marathon swimming career Martin has swum with piranhas and sharks in some of the world’s largest, most polluted rivers, including the Amazon, the Mississippi, the Danube, the Paraná in South America and the Yangtze in China. He swims under the slogan of “Swimming for peace, friendship and clean waters.”

Strel recently said in New York that his swimming challenge is not about him, it is about bringing awareness about peace, friendship and clear drinking water. Other swimmers and organizations are welcome to join him on his global adventure.

He will swim between 5 and 12 hours each day and be accompanied by an escort boat for emergencies and breaks, as well as overnight rest. The event is scheduled to start on 22.March, 2016. More details to follow.
