Today is World Water Day, which aims to highlight the importance of freshwater and the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
The world´s population is growing and the demand for clean water is increasing.
United Nations released that more people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war. Thirty years ago bottled water barely existed. Today it is a billion dollar industry with many people paying up to US$3 for one bottle. We pay for the convenience, but will you be prepared to pay three or more times the cost of gasoline or milk for a bottle of water in the near future?
Our founder Martin Strel has been swimming and raising awareness for clean waters for 20 years. Having swum in some of the most dangerous and dirty waters of the world, he feels very strongly about the need for keeping our waters clean.
We encourage more people to swim outdoors and enjoy the water our Earth has to offer. And to draw attention and commemorate the World Water Day, we have put our Croatian and Slovenian swimming trips ON SALE till March 31!
Our swimming adventures in Slovenia are special this year as we plan to swim in the beautiful waters of Lake Bled where the World rowing championships are taking place in the summer. It has been 20 years since Slovenia gained independence from Yugoslavia and its popularity is growing due to its outstanding landscape. Just ask American billionaire Donald Trump, married to Slovenian model Melanija Knavs-Trump, who has been seen viewing property around the Lake Bled area.
Here you can see a video of Martin Strel swimming pass dead body in the Yangtze river in China. Yangtze is probably the most polluted river in the world.
